Well, Hacienda Iluminada is an example of this. By using just a few fresh veggies, some protein, a cooking pan, and a little fire, we are able to cook the most delicious food, full of memories. Cooking at Hacienda Iluminada
Who doesn’t love cookouts, BBQs, picnics, or just eating outside with nature? At Hacienda Illuminada, we LOVE to spend time in nature, connecting, and spending time with the animals, and one of our best memories is cooking outside in nature. Coffee is one of the acts of love but so is cooking, with or for someone you appreciate. So after a long day of work, our humans love to get together, go to the local market, grab whatever is needed for a meal go back to the farm, and start cooking while they share laughs and stories.
As home of 787 coffee, Hacienda Illuminada often welcomes team members such as leaders and baristas so they meet the place that brings that delicious coffee to all coffee shops in New York and Texas. It's become a tradition to have a cookout after a day of work and learning. Our humans are from different parts of the world, so it’s amazing to experience different flavors and special dishes. It's an amazing way to connect and learn about each other's cultures.
A world of flavors
As we mentioned, it’s normal to see different types of dishes at the farm, from the unique cultures of our humans. It’s special to know each human’s stories about what they ate when growing up, the way their moms would make those dishes, and how they are typically served back home.
One of our caffeinated humans, Felix who is from Spain, recently visited Hacienda Iluminada. He brought his famous paella recipe to the table, and everybody at the farm was excited to try it out! So, as a team, they headed to the local store to get all the ingredients needed for an amazing homemade paella. It was prepared and cooked outside over a fire on the farm, and it was magical!
We also have our farmers bring their traditional Puerto Rican dishes. Recently, we enjoyed a delicious chicken stew made with fresh vegetables and tender chicken. This recipe is perfect for sharing with friends to have a great time together while enjoying the beauty of Maricao around us
It doesn’t matter if our humans are Puerto Rican, Mexican, or from Spain, everybody has something special to share. What better way to celebrate our differences than with a cookout? There's always something new and exciting at Hacienda Iluminada.
